Based on an RNA-Seq analysis, UGT72E1 and UGT72E2, together with UGT71C1, were found to be the most upregulated UGT genes in Arabidopsis in response to infection by the fungus Plasmodiophora brassicae [58], suggesting that the corresponding proteins might be directly or indirectly involved in pathogen resistance. The gene discussed is SLC35A2; the disease is infection.
