In the human neuroblastoma cell line, SK-N-MC, it was found that fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF-2) can induce Id1 expression at both the mRNA and protein levels; the inhibition of Id1 expression results in an accumulation of FGF-2-treated cells at the G2/M stage and postpones cell death [48]. This evidence concerns the gene FGF2 and neuroblastoma.
