In patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and AML, human MLF (hMLF1) was characterized as a target of the t(3;5) (q25.1;q34) translocation producing the fusion protein between the entire hMLF1 and the N-terminal domain of nucleophosmin (NPM1) [113]. The gene discussed is NPM1; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
