To elucidate whether the overexpression of NKX6.1 affects tumorigenicity in vivo, we subcutaneously injected 5 × 105 HCT8 cells with inducible NKX6.1 expression into the right flanks of NOD/SCID (nonobese diabetic severe-combined immunodeficiency) mice. Here, NKX6-1 is linked to severe combined immunodeficiency.
