In conclusion, the meta-analyses for cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers of PD showed: (1) a decrease of α-synuclein was a marker of PD, (2) a decrease of amyloid β42 was a marker of cognitive decline in PD, (3) the elevation of tau, phosphorylated tau, and neurofilament light chains differentiated between PD and the related disorders, and (4) the elevation of cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, and TGF-β) was observed in PD. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and Parkinson disease.
