The relative number of NeuN+ neurons between the different conditions largely mirrored that of neuroblasts (Figure 1C), although there were no statistically significant differences in the number of mature neurons at this early time point: Rbpj-/- and stroke (12 ± 7 cells/section; mean ± SD), the uninjured hemisphere of the same animals (5 ± 2 cells/section; mean ± SD; p = 0.125), and Rbpj+/+ and stroke (6 ± 9 cells/section; mean ± SD; p = 0.145; Figure S1). This evidence concerns the gene RBPJ and stroke disorder.
