In agreement with these findings in patients, mice with a complete block in Tfr development, due to Foxp3‐Cre‐driven conditional knock‐out of Bcl‐6, were more prone to develop spontaneous autoimmune disease resembling Sjögren's syndrome, and displayed an exacerbated phenotype in an experimental Sjögren's syndrome model.51 The gene discussed is TFRC; the disease is autoimmune disease.
