As reported by Kost et al., (2012), CLAV prevented damage induced by neurotoxin 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium (MPP+), a model of Parkinson’s disease via decreasing the levels of mitochondrial-mediated cell death pathway including Bax, cytochrome C, as well as caspases 3 and 9. Here, CASP3 is linked to Parkinson disease.
