Besides the strong evidence from schizophrenic brains for an important role of GABRB2 SNP in SCZ etiology, recently we have found that knock-out of either one or both copies of the GABRB2 gene in mice also brought about a wide range of phenotypic alterations resembling the positive symptoms, negative symptoms and cognitive deficits of SCZ.
