AKAP9 and Prolonged QT interval: Yotiao binds directly to Kv7.1 C-terminus via a leucine zipper motif, an amino acid sequence in the C terminus of Kv7.1, and disruption of the complex by mutations in yotiao or KCNQ1 are associated with Long QT Syndrome (Kass et al., 2003; Fodstad et al., 2004; Chen et al., 2007).
