The essential role of NF‐κB in cancer has been previously established by mediating the transcriptional activation of target genes, known to be involved in oncogenic pathways, such as TNF‐α/NF‐κB, EGFR/Ras/RAF/MAPK, Akt/PI3K/mTOR, ΙΚΚ/NF‐κB, STAT3 and wnt/β‐catenin,19, 39, 40, 41 and linked to head and neck cancer.39, 40. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and cancer.
