CTNNB1 and neoplasm: Since β-catenin (CTNNB1) could trigger tumor cell anchorage-independent growth and inhibit cancer cell anoikis 28, a special type of apoptosis that occurs in GC cells disseminating into the abdominal cavity 29, we hypothesized that MYH9-mediated CTNNB1 transcription promotes GC cell anoikis resistance.
