Information obtained from the TCGA databases through GEPIA-web server indicated that the lower levels of ECRG2 expression in several cancer types, i.e., esophageal cancer, head, and neck squamous cell cancer, as well as cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma, was significantly correlated with reduced disease-free survival among the patients, whereas high levels of ECRG2 expression coincided with better patient prognosis (Fig. 8b). This evidence concerns the gene SPINK7 and cancer.
