PTH and heart disorder: Standard antiresorptive drugs such as bisphosphonates, estrogen-like substrates, and parathyroid hormone effectively prevent bone loss via osteoclasts to decrease the risk of fragility fractures, but they have marked adverse reactions, such as increased risk of cancer, heart disease, and bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw [41, 42], suggesting that novel alternative therapeutic strategy is necessary to treat osteoporosis.
