AQP1 appeared to be associated with higher risks of death in lung adenocarcinoma patients with a four-fold increase in hazard ratio (HR 4.0) and in pleural mesothelioma (HR 2.7), as well as breast, prostate and some colon cancers (HRs 2.6 to 3.4). This evidence concerns the gene AQP1 and pleural mesothelioma.
