CD47 and plasma cell myeloma: Irradiation of mice before myeloma cell transplantation inhibited the efficacy of anti-CD47 antibodies delivered 2 weeks after radiation, and analysis of the bone marrow, spleen, and liver revealed that progeny of radiation-sensitive hematopoietic cells, and not only radiation-resistant resident macrophages, were necessary for CD47 antibody-mediated therapeutic effect [48].
