Baricitinib was shown to be associated to significant improvements in clinical outcomes in patients with moderately to severely active RA who had inadequate responses to bDMARDs, including at least one anti-TNF, or had unacceptable side effects, in RA-Beacon.29 Significantly more patients receiving baricitinib at the 4-mg dose than those receiving placebo had an ACR20 response at week 12 (55% vs. 27%, P<0.001). The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is rheumatoid arthritis.
