Dietary intake of different marine oils rich in LC-MUFA (in addition to n-3 LC-PUFA) reduces the risk factors of metabolic syndrome in animal models by improving plasma lipid levels and insulin sensitivity (Østerud et al., 1995; Lindqvist et al., 2009; Yang et al., 2011b; Yang et al., 2011a; Yang et al., 2015).
