Subsequently, we found that AKIP1 expression was dramatically increased in tumor tissues than that in non‐cancerous tissues, which might be due to the following fact: AKIP1 interacted with Slug to facilitate the malignant proliferation of gastric cancer cells, and thereby promoting the tumor occurrence, thus, AKIP1 expression was overexpressed in tumor tissues compared with non‐cancerous tissues in gastric cancer patients.11 This evidence concerns the gene SNAI2 and gastric cancer.
