Wu et al. (2017) designed a plasmid construct with Apoptin and HSA genes, and studied its tumor specific cytotoxicity in breast cancer cells. Significant negative effects on cell viability in vitro and on tumor growth in vivo in a mouse mammary tumor model were observed. The construct was able to induce apoptosis in tumor cells without affecting normal cells (Wu et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and neoplasm.
