In the GSE14520 dataset, 7 of 13 candidate genes (UCK2, LRCC1, GINS2, CDK4, LPGAT1, UBR5, and DLK1) are risk factors for poor survival, while according to the TCGA-LIHC dataset, high expression of 7 of the 13 candidate genes (UCK2, LRRC1, TTF2, GINS2, CDK4, CPD, and SESTD1) predict poor survival of HCC patients (Figure 4D).
