CD19 and B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia: This same construct (i.e., containing both CD28 and 4-1BB), developed at Baylor College of Medicine, was used in a phase 1/2a study: among 11 patients with relapsed/refractory CD19+ NHL or CLL, response rate was low (4 of 11 patients) and not very durable, although only a minority of the patients experienced CRS or neurological toxicity (120).
