A few retrospective studies and a recent meta-analysis of mixed cohorts of inherited or idiopathic isolated dystonia patients reported that the TOR1A mutation-positive status was associated with a better DBS response, whereas the reasons underpinning suboptimal responses remained mostly unexplored (Vasques et al., 2009; Andrews et al., 2010; Borggraefe et al., 2010; FitzGerald et al., 2014; Moro et al., 2017). Here, TOR1A is linked to Dystonia.
