Allele distribution of rs1800625 in AGER gene was revealed to be significantly different comparing the atrophic AMD patient and control groups: G allele was statistically more frequently observed in atrophic AMD patients than in controls (22.1% vs. 14.6%, p = .047) (Table 2) and may be considered as a risk factor for atrophic AMD. Here, AGER is linked to age-related macular degeneration.
