Platelet-derived growth factors (PDGFs) are known as growth factors for normal and tumoral astrocytes and oligodendrocytes.12–14 PDGF receptor alpha and beta (PDGFR-α and PDGFR-β) are found to be overexpressed in LGGs, and PDGFR-β is particularly expressed in the developing vasculature, including tumor angiogenesis.15–18. This evidence concerns the gene PDGFRB and neoplasm.
