We considered that the differences might be due to the expression of alternative PDGF isoforms during hepatic fibrosis, i.e., that PDGF-B may be the dominant isoform at the initial stages of hepatic fibrosis, while PDGFA may predominate during later fibrosis stages due to the effects of hypomethylation [27].
