In this present study, there was no significant difference in pre-resection ESR results between both groups; however, the pre-resection CRP level was lower in group U than in group C. Similar to our study, Petrikkos et al. noted that both serum procalcitonin and CRP levels were lower in patients with fungal infections than in those with bacterial infection [21]. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and fungal infectious disease.
