Preclinical studies with cetuximab (an anti-EGFR mAb) as well as gefitinib and erlotinib (EGFR small molecule inhibitors) have displayed that EGFR-targeted therapies enhance the anti-tumor activity of the chemotherapeutic agents and radiotherapy in colorectal, pancreatic, non-small cell lung, and breast cancer cells[11-14]. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and breast cancer.
