PLAUR and infection: By studying the kinetics of H. pylori-driven uPAR induction, we now reveal four new properties: i) The induction of uPAR expression is confined to the foveolar compartment in the gastric epithelium; ii) it represents an early event in the pathogenesis of the infection; iii) it requires sustained bacterial colonization; and iv) it is associated with the inflammatory-mediated reaction.
