The BRAF mutations were the most frequent genetic alteration detected in the cases (22.2%), only in malignant tumours, with 77% of the mutations found in CV-PTC (20 cases), 12% in aggressive variants of PTC (1 tall cell PTC; 1 diffuse sclerosing PTC and 1 trabecular/solid PTC) and 12% in FV-PTC (3 cases). Here, BRAF is linked to cancer.
