Since the increased EMP levels have been reported in multiple pro-inflammatory and pathologic conditions including sepsis [27], cardiovascular disease [37], thrombosis [5], angiogenesis, inflammatory response, and hypercoagulability [26], our data suggest that modulation of PAK4 activity might represent a novel approach to suppress the TNF-induced EMP levels in these pathological conditions.
