The baseline characteristics of patients in critically ill and non-critically ill groups were significantly different (p < 0.05) for the parameters age, prevalence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, laboratory data (i.e., leucocytes, neutrophils, albumin, serum creatinine, and C-reactive protein), and treatments (i.e., number of concomitant medications and use of glucocorticoids and antiviral agents). Here, CRP is linked to cerebrovascular disorder.
