The breast cancer risk increases between 30 and 40 years in BRCA1, but the higher penetrance of BRCA2 at later ages has been confirmed reaching an absolute cumulative risk between 60 and 80% at age 80 years for both BRCA1 and BRCA2. The risk of contralateral breast cancer is estimated at 40% for BRCA1 carriers and 25% for BRCA2 carriers at 20 years after the first breast cancer diagnosis [10]. Here, BRCA2 is linked to breast cancer.
