DNA variants located within MMP1 (rs1799750), MMP3 (rs3025058, rs679620, rs591058, rs650108), MMP10 (rs486055), and MMP12 (rs2276109), have independently and/or in combination been associated with Achilles tendinopathy (AT) risk [16,17,18], Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) [24] and ACL ruptures [19,20,21]. This evidence concerns the gene MMP12 and carpal tunnel syndrome.
