IDH1 and neoplasm: Overall, neither IDH1/2-mutations nor other chromosomal alterations showed the potential for being a discriminatory marker for distinct subtypes of diffuse astrocytomas in our own tumor cohort due to the low and variable IDH-mutational frequency and the heterogeneous cytogenetic profiles observed in GBM36 and other subtypes of diffuse astrocytomas, in line also with previous findings by others37.
