Consequently, studies that present phenotypic changes in prostate cancer cells upon suppression of LIN28 [9,11] are hard to align with several experiments such as the ones documented in gene expression omnibus (GEO) datasets GSE85556, GSE71797, or GSE99381 that have shown a lack of expression of LIN28 in these cell lines.
