In 53 out of the 60 (88.3%) SIL lesions (both LSIL and HSIL and including the SIL lesions in the co‐existing SIL/AIS), an exclusively SOX2‐positive staining pattern (n = 45; 75%) or dominant expression (n = 8; 13.3%) of SOX2 was seen. Here, SOX2 is linked to squamous cell intraepithelial neoplasia.
