A three-day treatment with caffeic acid (1 – 50 mM) and chlorogenic acid (1 – 20 mM)decreases the methylation-specific band for the retinoic acid receptor beta(RARB) but does not significantly change global DNA methylationin MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 human breast cancer cells (Lee and Zhu, 2006). This evidence concerns the gene RARB and breast cancer.
