Although several pharmacotherapeutic agents, such as vitamin E,38 thiazolidinedione,39 glucagon like peptide‐1 analogues,40 and farnesoid X receptor agonists,41 have shown positive results on the treatment of non‐alcoholic steatohepatitis, currently, there are no approved medications for NAFLD. This evidence concerns the gene NR1H4 and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
