The potent pro-resolving activity of RvD1 has been further investigated in a model of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in which it was demonstrated that RvD1 can prevent EMT of lung epithelial cells with reversal of the TGF-β-smad2/3 signaling pathway and lung fibrosis via the FPR2/ALX receptor (110). This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
