Despite the fact that innate and adaptive immunity components, including T cells, B cells, macrophages, dendritic cells (DCs), and multiple cytokines (e.g., interleukin (IL)-4, IL-6, transforming growth factor (TGF)-β) play roles in both the onset and the progression of SSc, the exact etiopathogenesis of the disease still remains elusive (1, 2). Here, IL6 is linked to systemic sclerosis.
