While detecting intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1), CD11b (a marker for myeloid dendritic cells [mDCs]), B220 (a marker of plasmacytoid dendritic cells [pDCs]), and chemotactic factor CCR7 in the surface of lung DCs by flow cytometric analysis, we found that the percentage of ICAM-1, CD11b, or CCR7-positive expression was significantly elevated in the LPS-administrated ALI group in contrast to the control. The gene discussed is ICAM1; the disease is acute respiratory distress syndrome.
