Since the rate of MSI tumours reported in EC cases is higher (30%) compared to other cancers (ie 15% in CRC), illustrating that an abnormal DNA MMR pathway plays a role in EC tumorigenesis, we decided to look into a more extended set of genes than those known to be involved in LS (MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, PMS2 and deletions in EPCAM1). The gene discussed is MLH1; the disease is cancer.
