The research of molecular alterations in NSCLC metastatic disease is of fundamental importance for the choice of the best type of treatment: choroidal metastasis responds favorably to systemic therapy targeted toward the primary neoplasm and in patients with choroidal metastasis of ALK rearranged NSCLC, targeted therapy has gradually replaced radiotherapy as the best treatment. This evidence concerns the gene ALK and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
