CASP3 and neoplasm: Numerous genes involved in tumor cell apoptosis (B-cell lymphoma 2 [Bcl-2], inhibitor of apoptosis proteins, caspase-3) (Li and Sethi, 2010; Gyrd-Hansen and Meier, 2010), cycling (cyclin D1) (Cao et al., 2007), proliferation (cyclooxygenase-2) (Poligone and Baldwin, 2001), angiogenesis (vascular endothelial growth factor, interleukin 8) (Huang et al., 2001), and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related metastasis (López-Novoa and Nieto, 2009) are influenced by constitutive activation of the NF-κB signaling pathway.
