ZC3H12A and renal carcinoma: Interestingly, a recent study of human renal carcinoma cell line (Caki-1 cells) revealed that ZC3H12A/MCPIP1 overexpression reduces the cellular growth by increasing the levels of CDKN1A/p21 transcripts, along with other proteins involved in cell cycle progression/arrest, supporting a coordinate regulation of ZC3H12A/MCPIP1 and CDKN1A/p21 in that cell-line [32].
