MEG3 and breast cancer: We next acquired a list of genes correlated the expression of MEG3 using the GOBO (Gene expression-based Outcome for Breast Cancer Online) dataset and submitted the list to DAVID (the database for annotation, visualization and integrated discovery, version 6.7) (Huang et al., 2009a, b) to identify pathways associated with MEG3. Herein, the expression of MEG3 correlates with expression of extracellular matrix genes, which are in line with the observations of a high expression of MEG3 in cells found in the stromal compartment (Supplementary Figure 2A).
