A great number of epidemiological studies on HCC patients exposed to high levels of aflatoxins proved that some genes (e.g., P53 tumor suppressor gene, c-KRAS oncogene, and HRAS proto-oncogene) are particularly subjected to these mutations [32,33,34,35], strengthening the association between HCC and aflatoxin exposure. Here, TP53 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
