ARMS2 and age-related macular degeneration: The relatively lower ARMS2 risk allele frequencies in the former subtypes suggest that most eyes of “smaller PCV”, “typical PCV,” and “idiopathic PCV” could belong to pachychoroid neovasculopathy, while the relatively higher ARMS2 risk allele frequencies in the later subtypes suggest that most eyes with “larger PCV”, “polypoidal CNV”, and “PCV as a subtype of neovascular AMD” could belong to drusen-driven AMD.
