Not much is known about this miRNA in connection with breast cancer; interestingly, however, miR-32-5p interacts with genes NFIB, SOX11 (SRY-box 11), and DSC2 (desmocollin 2) (downregulated in ER+ vs ER−), all three of which are known to be over-expressed in basal-like/TNBC/ER− tumors and associated with poor survival [129, 144, 145]. The gene discussed is ESR1; the disease is breast cancer.
