Overexpression of VASH2 in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells induced the expression of the EMT-related nuclear factor, zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 2 (ZEB2), and the mesenchymal marker vimentin [15], whereas knockdown of VASH2 in ovarian cancer cells inhibited the expression of ZEB2 and mesenchymal markers [34]. This evidence concerns the gene VASH2 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
